SBS Private Hire Limited
These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with SBS Private Hire Limited and any of its trading brands, including but not limited to:
- Dunmow Minicab Company
- Fly Stansted Taxis
- First Light Taxis
- Jim's Travel
By making a booking with any of our brands, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Definitions
Company means SBS Private Hire Limited.
Customer means the individual or organisation making the booking.
Driver means the licensed driver undertaking the booking.
Vehicle means the private hire vehicle allocated to the booking.
2. Booking a Journey
Bookings may be made via:
- Telephone
- Website
- Passenger App
- WhatsApp (where available)
- Authorised booking partners
All bookings are subject to vehicle and driver availability.
A booking is not confirmed until accepted by our booking system or a member of our team.
3. Fares
Journey prices may be:
- Fixed fares
- Metered fares (where applicable)
- Contract prices
- Account prices
Airport fees, tolls, parking charges and additional waiting time may be charged where applicable.
Unless otherwise agreed, all prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (£).
4. Payment
We accept payment by:
- Debit Card
- Credit Card
- Cash (where available)
- Business Account
- Approved partner accounts
Payment may be required before travel for certain bookings.
Failure to pay outstanding balances may result in future bookings being refused.
5. Booking Changes
Customers should notify us as soon as possible if they need to:
- Change pickup time
- Amend destination
- Change passenger numbers
- Request a different vehicle
Changes cannot always be guaranteed and may result in additional charges.
6. Cancellations
Customers may cancel a booking before the vehicle has been dispatched.
Cancellation charges may apply where:
- The driver has already been dispatched.
- The driver has arrived at the pickup location.
- Parking or airport charges have already been incurred.
- A specialist vehicle has been reserved.
- The booking relates to a large group or event.

7. Waiting Time
Drivers may allow a reasonable complimentary waiting period depending on the booking type.
Additional waiting time may be charged after this period.
Airport collections may include different waiting allowances depending on the airport and booking.
8. Airport Transfers
Customers are responsible for providing:
- Correct flight number
- Arrival date
- Arrival time
- Contact telephone number
Where flight monitoring is offered, we will make reasonable efforts to monitor delays.
Airport parking charges may apply where applicable.
9. Passenger Responsibilities
Passengers must:
- Wear seat belts where legally required.
- Behave respectfully towards drivers.
- Avoid causing damage to vehicles.
- Not smoke or vape inside vehicles.
- Follow reasonable instructions from the driver.
Drivers may refuse travel where passenger behaviour places safety at risk.
10. Children
Children remain the responsibility of the accompanying adult throughout the journey.
Customers requiring child seats should notify us when booking.
Availability cannot always be guaranteed.
11. Luggage
Passengers are responsible for ensuring luggage requirements are declared when booking.
Drivers may refuse luggage that exceeds the vehicle's safe carrying capacity.
The Company accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to luggage unless caused by negligence.
12. Lost Property
Items left in vehicles should be reported as soon as possible.
While every effort will be made to recover lost property, SBS Private Hire Limited cannot guarantee recovery.
Returned items may be subject to a reasonable administration or delivery charge.
13. Vehicle Allocation
The Company reserves the right to substitute a similar or larger vehicle where operationally necessary.
Vehicle images displayed on our website are for illustration purposes only.
14. Delays
Although every effort is made to arrive on time, delays may occasionally occur due to:
- Traffic
- Road closures
- Weather
- Vehicle breakdown
- Accidents
- Events beyond our reasonable control
We shall not be liable for delays outside our reasonable control.
15. Driver Authority
Drivers reserve the right to refuse travel where:
- Passenger behaviour is abusive or threatening.
- Passengers appear excessively intoxicated.
- Illegal substances are present.
- The journey would place safety at risk.
- Passenger numbers exceed the legal vehicle capacity.
Safety always takes priority.
16. Damage & Cleaning Charges
Customers may be held responsible for damage caused to a vehicle during their journey.
Where exceptional cleaning is required due to spills, sickness or deliberate misuse, a reasonable cleaning charge may be applied.
17. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will investigate all complaints fairly and aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

18. Limitation of Liability
Nothing within these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
Subject to applicable law, SBS Private Hire Limited shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from delays, cancellations or events beyond our reasonable control.
19. Privacy
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
20. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
The latest version will always be published on our website.
21. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
